Stay and ride holidays
Finally catching up with my emails since getting back from wales! Thank you for sending these photos - they are a great reminder of our exciting first moments of our expedition!! Thank you once again for organising our wonderful holiday - it really was the best time I have spent with my horse Rocky and we cant wait to embark on another riding holiday!! We also met some lovely people along the way I will be recommending you trans-wales trip to every horsey person I meet and encourage them to give the self guided route a go as it was truly brilliant and gave a real sense of achievement in making it to each overnight stop along the way!!
Thank you again..............Sarah and Rocky
Hidden between Snowdonia National Park in the North and the Brecon Beacons in the south Mid-Wales offers wilderness riding at its best. Thousands of acres of open countryside which remains largely un-trodden best described as wild without being rugged. It is not unusual to ride all day without seeing another soul.
Magnificent scenery
Panoramic views
Long grassy tracks
spectacular countryside using permissive rights of way,
forgotten bridleways,
open moorland crossings,
old drover’s trails
quiet country lanes.
On the grand scale Wales is tiny, yet in this small corner of the world, where sheep outnumber people, is an amazingly large area of unspoilt countryside. With thousands of acres of open hillside, forest, pastures and lanes with grass growing up the middle it really is heaven with horses. Stand on these wild rangy hills and you can feel like the world is yours alone.
Here in Mid-Wales you can really travel on horseback for days and barely touch a road or meet a soul. You are more likely to be accompanied by buzzards, red kites and mountain ponies. Indeed to meet anyone else out in the hills usually comes as a surprise, rural tourism is still in it’s infancy. There is more than a life time of riding without having to cover the same route twice. This might not be unusual for the more roomy countries of the world but in Britain it is something to be treasured. The riding really is beyond description. We are of course ‘biased’ but we feel incredibly privileged to know and ride this very special area.
We take pride in the quality of service that we provide and are delighted to be able to offer riders with their own horses such great riding through our selection of fabulous riding holidays.
Enjoy our picture galleries to get a feel for what it has to offer.
